With a busy long weekend of events and travel throughout Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley, the City of Abbotsford is encouraging people to plan ahead and arrive early to their destination. Highway 1 and major routes through the community will have additional traffic as nearly 100,000 people are expected to attend a number of events happening in Abbotsford on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday
- PISRA Car Cruise starting at Bradner Park from 11a.m. and heading towards Langley
- Summer Tour 2022 – Dilpreet, Jordan, Sajjan, Korala, Baani at the Abbotsford Centre at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.)
Sunday
- Nagar Kirtan Procession 9 am – 5 pm (event starts at 11 am) with rolling road closures in West Abbotsford of Blueridge Drive, Townline Drive, Southern Drive, Sandpiper Drive and Goldfinch Drive starting at 9 am.
- PISRA 50th Anniversary Car Show at Bradner Park from 11 am – 4 pm
- Punk in Drublic at TRADEX from 1 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Peak community impact is projected to be between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday. Event participants are encouraged to carpool with friends and family and use public transit whenever possible. The Fraser Valley Express - Route 66 comes to Abbotsford from Lougheed Mall, Carvolth Exchange and Chilliwack.
