Bulk Water Filling Station - FAQ

• How does the Flowpoint system works?

  Flowpoint system allows customers to access, manage, monitor and control their water usage and fleet at any time from a mobile device. The new system works on a pre-paid account system which will require the use of a credit card. The stations will only dispense water when customers have a sufficient balance in their account.

• How do I apply for a NEW bulk water permit?

  Apply for NEW bulk water permit on the Flowpoint system.

• What are the payment options?

  Only Credit Cards (VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, JCB) is accepted. There is a 1.75% service charge per transaction.

  Remember, this is a pre-paid account system. The station will only dispense water if there is sufficient balance in the account. 

• When do I know if my application is approved?

  The approval process will take 2-3 business days. You may receive queries about your application via email. You will receive an email regarding the result of your application whether approved or rejected.

• What should I do after receiving approval of my application?

• What is a Truck Account?

  Bulk water filling station is designed based on water truck hauling concept. Hence, a unique user ID and PIN code is created based on a truck (vehicle) not on the permit (Permit Account Holder). A single permit holder can create multiple users using different trucks (vehicle) in the Truck Management Menu when you log in to your account.

• How do I use the Access Terminal at the station?

• Does the City provide hoses, fixtures and/or tanks to get bulk water?

  No. Customers must provide their hoses, appropriate fixtures and tanks. The hose receiver is different from each station. Please refer to the link to know hose receiver sizes.

• How do I cancel my Bulk Water Filling Permit?

  You can request to cancel your Bulk Water Filling Permit by sending email to operations@abbotsford.ca.

• Do I get back the remaining balance from my account after I cancel my Bulk Water Filling Permit?

  Yes, but only upon cancellation of permit. The City will send a cheque amounting to your account balance to your registered mailing address. No refunds can happen while your Permit is still active.

• What hours are the Bulk Water Filling stations available?

  24/7. However, the stations are located in the areas where Sound Regulation Bylaw is in place. Please be mindful with the noise level generated by your truck (vehicle) when using the Bulk Water Filling stations. 

• Are any other permits required to take water from the Bulk Water Filling stations?

  If you are using water for potable purposes, you are required by Fraser Health Authority to obtain an operating permit. Details can be found at www.fraserhealth.ca.
