Water Service Installation Permits are required when hooking up a new service to a City water main.
Permit fee:
- 18 mm (3/4") connection, up to 25 metres in length is $4,225
- 25 mm (1") connection, up to 25 metres in length is $4,570
- Security deposit in the amount of $250 for the connection of the water service.
Notes:
- Large service installation may be permitted, and the City will provide a cost estimate for the permit.
- Homeowners are responsible for the cost of repairs or any damage to the water connection caused by the homeowner or contractor during construction.
- Connection charges do not include any extra costs incurred during the installation of a water service due to the presence of rock or other unusual ground conditions.
- Should extra costs be incurred, applicant will be invoiced after the installation of the water service is completed.
The cost of the connection should always be confirmed with the Engineering Department to ensure proper interpretation of the service installation and connection fee.
