Educational and vocational pursuits prepare our residents and serve as a solid foundation for their future endeavours. As a Council, we want to take a moment to recognize this year’s graduating classes.
Grads of 2024, this one is for you.
You made it!
Whether you’re finishing high school, college, trade school or university, congratulations, graduates, on a job well done! You worked hard to get to this point and you should be proud of all that you have accomplished.
Your tests and assignments are finally behind you. Your late-night study sessions and last-minute cramming is over. But while you celebrate the end of one journey, the next one is fast approaching. Whether you choose to continue your studies, enter the workforce or pursue other interests, we are confident that everything that you’ve learned and experienced will equip you well for what lies ahead.
But before you head off on your next adventure, we hope you take some time to reflect on this time and show your appreciation to the ones who stood by you during the highs and lows as you completed your schooling. Your friends, families, teachers, coaches and community have been there to support you and will continue to cheer you on through whatever comes next.
During your schooling, there were likely important life skills that you developed without even realizing it. Things like teamwork, leadership, dedication and curiosity will benefit you for the rest of your lives. These are qualities that make good friends, students, workers and community members.
You have promising futures ahead of you, and we hope that Abbotsford will remain a part of that future. As the cultural and economic hub of the Fraser Valley we are a fast-growing community with a diverse population and economy. You are our future leaders and innovators. We hope you will be involved in our community, find solutions to challenges and help make Abbotsford the kind of city where you want to live, work, play and explore.
We wish you success and know you will do us proud.
