Property Taxes were due Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at midnight.

Penalties are legislated and cannot be waived
First 5% Penalty Date: July 3, 2024, including unclaimed Home Owner Grant
Second 5% Penalty Date: September 17, 2024, including unclaimed Home Owner Grant

Registered property owners are billed annually for property taxes, solid waste collection, secondary suites and other charges.

Important Messages

Home Owner Grant: The home owner grant application process has changed. Everyone will now apply directly to the province using a new online system that's easy to use and will process applications faster.

How to Apply
- ONLINE: gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant or CALL: 1-888-355-2700
The City of Abbotsford cannot process your Home Owner Grant. You must do this through the Province of BC.
- Pay online from your financial institution's website, or pay online with your credit card (service fees apply).

If you are currently signed up for our pre-authorized withdrawal plan, please see your tax notice for:
- any balance owing;
- information on when the plan restarts;
- your recalculated payment amount.
- Wednesday, July 3, 2024: applied first penalty equal to 5% of unpaid 2024 property taxes, including unclaimed Home Owner Grants.
- Tuesday, September 17, 2024: applied second penalty equal to 5% of unpaid 2024 property taxes, including unclaimed Home Owner Grants.
