Clayburn Creek Fish Habitat Improvement Project

Project Description

The City of Abbotsford is working to provide more fish habitat in the Clayburn Creek watershed that includes restoration of side-channel habitat and adding new channel enhancements at two locations. The goal is to create side-channel areas, which will provide rearing habitat, and some limited spawning habitat.

The fish habitat improvement work will be completed by Skylark Development Corp. and overseen by the City’s design / environmental consultant and by First Nations archaeological monitors.

October 2023- This project was completed in September 2021 but the recent flooding resulted in sediment deposits. Next step is to determine if portions of the damaged works can be re-instated or if another location is needed. Work planned for construction window of August - September 2024
