Development Inquiry Meetings

The City of Abbotsford welcomes new business and development that benefit our growing community.  That’s why we’ll take the time to work with you to ensure you get the information you need to successfully submit your development application.

What is a Development Inquiry Meeting (DIM)?

This meeting is your first chance to discuss the details of your development proposal with several key departments at the City.  We’ll outline the review and approval process and do our best to give you an understanding of the potential involvement of other government agencies.

Following this meeting, you will know what applications need to be made and have preliminary comments regarding City policies related to the project (OCP), the works and services needed to support your proposal and environmental considerations which all can be used to assist you in determining the project feasibility and next steps.

Development Inquiry Meeting requests are typically assigned and hosted within 3-4 weeks of the submission request.
